India's $33 Smartphone coming - Smart Phone for the masses with touchscreen and camera

Similar to what low-cost computers did for emerging markets, a 33 dollar smart phone (CloudFX) may be the next big thing for the masses around the globe who have yet to connect to the world using a smart phone. The WSJ reviewer notes it is better than you think albeit with limitations on the first go-round with web browsing. Using Firefox's operating system to save dramatically on costs, the phone works well with Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and WhatsApp among others.

You can get up to 4 thousand dollars in China if you sell you IPhone 6 there. However you would have to buy another IPhone to replace the sold one. I know this from the fight over IPhones last week on the grand opening IPhone day.

the priciest data rates that I am aware of. If actual free market competition existed, Americans could more easily afford to use this "smart phone for the masses."
Paying for the data on my Sons I-phone is one of the highest bills that I have.

Unlimited talk, text and data for $45/mo. Data throttled after 3GB, I believe.

Can you make phone calls on it? I do a lot of on line surveys and many concern smart phones. These surveys ask about the activities you engage in with your smart phone. I almost always have to use "Other" and type in "Send and receive phone calls". I just find it humorous that it's rarely a consideration versus accessing FB, Twitter or game apps when discussing today's telephone technology.
