(51,076 posts)Newark is fortunate to have such a fine person as their mayor. I hope that he stays in politics as its guys or gals like him who makes it all work.

He is also very very liberal, the presumed next Gov of NJ, since Christie is so unpopular now.
NJ is a state that is generally moderately liberal, but a hero who can eclipse NY Mayors, who can actually go out and shovel snow, who can stand up for the rights of all people, (yes, he's gay friendly), he's a fine man, for sure.
Sorry you didn't know about him before today. Now you're informed and ready to work for him when he runs for Prez.

(535 posts)not knowing about him.
Cory is really only known in NY, New England, NJ and Pennsylvania so far. He's a local hero on the northeast area of the USA.
But soon he will be known worldwide. I would think about 2013,-2015 Obama and him will be on national TV, and something about crime fighting, something about mayors as hero's we will see.
I assume you are in Switzerland, (given your name), and that you know this much about American politics is admirable. You don't need to know the hundreds of great liberal mayors in our many cities. Newark, if you don't know, is almost next door to NYC in NJ, so it's close to lots of people who will take notice, about 10-20 million in those states.
