Excerpts from video description:
Early clinical trials of a Canadian Ebola vaccine are being launched at an American research institute, research that Health Minister Rona Ambrose hopes could one day stop the spread of the virus.
The phase one clinical trials announced Monday are being conducted at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Maryland. During the trials, healthy patients will be given a dose of Canadas VSV-EBOV vaccine to assess its safety, figure out the appropriate dosage and test for side effects. The vaccine designed for use by a person before he or she is exposed to the virus was developed by the Public Health Agency of Canada, which licensed the rights to a company, NewLink Genetics, and its subsidiary. That company is now working with the American Defense Threat Reduction Agency to develop the vaccine for use.
A second potential vaccine developed by the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and GlaxoSmithKline is also currently undergoing phase one trials in the United Kingdom and the West African countries of Mali and Gambia.
Early testing of the Canadian vaccine in primates has been 100 per cent effective in stopping the spread of the virus, Ms. Ambrose said, calling the beginning of trials a very positive and hopeful development. If the Canadian vaccine is proven to be safe and deemed effective, it will stop this devastating outbreak, the minister said.
Canada has pledged 800 to 1,000 doses of the vaccine to the World Health Organization, though they havent yet been shipped. Ms. Ambrose said the Canadian government hopes a shipment will take place in the very near future.

(396 posts)You know what'll happen if you take the vaccine? You'll turn into an overly-polite milksop who apologizes for everything!

(7,006 posts)Considering the PROFIT motive is secondary in Canada and maintaining Health People is a first motive plus true goal of the Canadian Health Care System. Nationalized Health Care is Amazing and America's sick version of Privatized Health Care results in outbreaks of Ebola at a hospital in Dallas where the cuts in proven infectious disease protocols took place.
We should all be proud of our Healthcare System in the USA.....

(1,265 posts)before or just a few years after 1981 (Reagan), didn't American drug companies go to third world countries to test their drugs? Another sign of our rapid decline brought to you by American and global oligarchs.
