that the loonies that they voted for will have ushered in over the next few years. In my area, we've never had a progressive congressman or state legislator in my lifetime, or my parents' lifetime, for all that matters. It seems that the next legislator from our district is loonier and more far-right than the one that they're replacing. And just drive across the area and you'll see nothing but anti-abortion signs and pickups with NRA or anti-Obama stickers.

The thing is, these same people bitch and moan about what's wrong with this country, citing concentration of wealth, the disappearing middle class, increasing numbers of families requiring multiple jobs to keep up and so forth. But come election time, they continue to vote for the three G's - Guns, Gays and Gynecology, meaning they've sent an idiot to Washington or Columbus who doesn't really give a shit about the three G's, but he does care about giving the rich more tax breaks and the Pentagon a blank check.

I've said for years that our area would vote for a Hitler/Stalin ticket for President if they were on the Republican ticket. If the people in my area were half as loyal to their faith as they are to their politics, these people would be up for sainthood.

in 2008 and 2012, the masses were motivated and voted for hope and change.

Absent hope, change and liberal policies on the ticket in 2014, none were motivated.

Centrism and compromise are not exciting.

Now we're out of money, nearly out of power ... and how do you change that with
Citizens United cash flow against you?

It's the 1920s all over again.

Anyone for a Scopes monkey trial?

history has shown that the problem makers just redefine themselves and are hired to solve the problems that they created.

I envision Wasserman Schultz. the Clintonistas, et. al. will now craft some study to find some scapegoats other than themselves and become more entrenched. We only assume that the political elites/tptb are in this business for altruism. Altruism on the part of elites is part of the myth-making upon which American culture/exceptionalism is based. Political/corporate elites (with a very few exceptions) are basically sociopaths in this business for their egos and personal gain rather than what we are propagandized to believe they are there for - to help us, our country and make the world a better place.

Sociopaths. Political Drama Queens. Narcissists for Power.

IMO, Nancy Pelosi, and I'm sure to catch flack on this, is one of the
rare few old time altrustic politicians. She learned politics from the
ground up from her father. She has run a disciplined flock, knows
political back scratching. She's not overly involved in the media PR
campaign mode game. Nuts and bolts. She knows how to hunker down
and await opportunity when the tide turns.

It's gonna be a long wait.

lamented that the Democrats weren't still doing what worked so well a half dozen years ago...(meaning basically the "50 state strategy&quot . I asked if she remembered Gov. Dean and how much appreciation he was shown by the administration he'd done so much to elect.
