RT cuts off their guest: a reminder of the BS Kremlin lies of RT vids you may see in DU video feed

In case you weren’t clear on Russia Today’s relationship to Moscow, Putin clears it up
By Max Fisher June 13, 2013

Russian President Vladimir Putin speaks during his visit to the new studio complex of 'Russia Today' television channel. (Yuri Kochetkov/Reuters)

The Russian news agency Russia Today, also known as RT, broadcasts in Russian and in English in several countries, including the United States, where it's advertised as a counterweight to American broadcast outlets, a sort of Russian take on Al Jazeera. The network is officially backed by the Russian government but positions itself as like the BBC, state-funded but editorially independent.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a recent interview with the network, made some revealing comments about RT's mission and its relationship with the Russian government. While he said nothing revelatory, his unusually candid description of the network's pro-Kremlim coverage undercut RT's official description of itself as editorially independent.

Since arriving here a short time ago, I've been left scratching my head at the number of vids from RT, an anti-American propaganda outfit run by an anti-American government. Russia Today is about as reliable as FOX 'News,' another propaganda network!

It does not really look much different than "talking head" shows in the US.

She was trying to keep the show on topic and seem to be feeling time pressure; Which was apparently about the times being fed stories by the government.

Jay is used to having the floor and all the time he wants to make his points.

8 minute long interview that is over four years old! Even the WP link is grasping
for straws. Thanks for posting the full interview.

about Russia or Putin. He spams DU with anti Russian propaganda every single day. I mean we get it, you really really really hate everything Russia and Putin.

And just like I suspected, she did not cut him off at all. She gave him about 1 min to give a closing statement before moving on. But then again, just looking at who posted the OP, I knew something was going to be off with this one. Its only a matter of finding the evidence. So thanks newthinking for posting the unedited version of the interview.

things out with the MSM, regardless of Fox's smug and misleadingly obvious slant on the issues. Wasn't this a pretty old clip, as well?

It's old, (enough so as you said that this reporter is no longer with RT.) It's edited to shreds, (someone went to a great deal of trouble to smear a news outlet that was not part of the US MSM!) and it clearly fooled several people enough to get them out of critical thinking mode.
It seems to me this is nothing more than a effort to smear one of the few opposing voices to the US MSM. So, as long as you realize that all news out lets have an agenda and what that agenda is you can decant the truth for the most part.
