Papantonio: The Progressive Solution To the Student Loan Crisis

One of the biggest problems facing college students and recent graduates is the crippling amount of student loan debt that they have to carry to be able to attend school. The threat of these debts are keeping millions of high school graduates out of college, but a new proposal from President Obama is aimed at changing this cycle.

Ring of Fire's Mike Papantonio and progressive radio and TV host David Pakman talk about this.

The year-over-year increase (yes, that's increase alone, not total wealth) of the 400 richest people in the US is enough to pay tuition for all full-time students.

All full-time students in the US. Just the wealth increase. 400 rich people remain insanely rich.

That's crazy. Bring back normal tax rates and rules. I don't care if we roll things back to the 50s, 60s, or 70s, as long as we don't apply Ronnie Raygun breaks or later.

And when it comes to the Phoenix style schools, the right of education profiteers to scam those in a needy or vulnerable position is put in first place, and held to be a sacred and inviolable right, while the educational product delivered is a total sham. Our current educational system is bad for education, bad for the economy, and bad for the future of this country. After all, transferring wealth around to provide fro the education and future of our younger student population, like they do in Western European countries, is a socialist act, which is anathema to the new Republican congress.
