TYT: Senators Face Backlash Over Letter To Iran

"Cenk Uygur (http://www.twitter.com/cenkuygur) host of The Young Turks discusses the reaction on both sides of the party line to the recent letter sent to Iran by a number of U.S. Senators.

Earlier this week forty-six United States Senators sent out a letter threatening Iran that despite what happens during current nuclear negotiations, the Senate will never ratify any treaty that they didn't like. This was seen as treason by some and was widely regarded as a bad move. Secretary of State John Kerry condemned the letter saying it was intentionally trying to sabotage the talks. President Barack Obama was just short of face palming and stated in a tired by annoyed tone that despite what these senators had tried to pull that nuclear negotiations would continue.

Republicans also gave their voice, condemning the letter. Despite the backlash Senator Tom Cotton, the writer of the letter, continued to defend the letter. He called for a move for a better deal, referencing the recent speech by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the United States Congress."

If you watched Cenk's previous video, Freshman Senator Tom Cotton, the originator of the Open Letter to Iran, went to a convention of defense contractors the very same day he was on TV doubling down on and defending his letter before the press. Hey - he just got in to the Senate, and taking such a bold move to promote the business interests of these defense contractors by doing everything he could to undermine negotiations for a peaceful settlement sends a strong message to these arms dealers that he's their guy in Washington. What better way could Senator Tommy insure his political future? He doesn't want peace, he wants war! His own political @$$ is all that he cares about, and the country be damned!

What greater proof could you want that these Republican senators are treasonous, and are actually doing the bidding of a foreign nation? First, they invite Netanyahu to speak an embolden them, whipping them up to a hawkish fervor, and then they make the strongest move they can to take us in the direction that Netanyahu wants us to go in - to war with Iran.

Keep up the backlash everyone. I have emailed Mitch. Am open to supporting other efforts. Tehran Tom and Jehadi Johnny need to be reminded daily of their and 45 others unAmerican behavior.
