But he bugged me when he used butterflies pollinating as an analogy. It's odd. Most people use bees as a common pollinator not butterflies. Is this due to the die off of bees? Our grandchildren will not be talking about bees because Monsanto had to sell more pesticide for profit and inadvertently killed off our bees. How sad.
From the US Forest Service: "Butterflies are very active during the day and visit a variety of wildflowers. Butterflies are less efficient than bees at moving pollen between plants. Highly perched on their long thin legs, they do not pick up much pollen on their bodies and lack specialized structures for collecting it."
