(41,832 posts)When you do that, the coffee explodes in your mouth though the cookie, its a little bit of heaven. I have tried this, and its a wonderful sensation. Its too bad they are hard to find in the US! Tim Tams are freaking awesome. Why are people so quick to poo-poo every freaking thing on DU??

(11,843 posts)Growing up on Norwegian Lutheran church basement coffee, where one tiny bowl of sugar and an ounce or two of creme go mostly untouched for a hundred cups of coffee, it seems quite elaborate, but interesting.

(3,290 posts)You can sit in a coffee shop and talk politics until your blood pressure spikes or do a Tim Tam slam and have a good laugh.
Bet you get some strange looks, especially here in the midwest.
Thanks.

(35,961 posts)And I wish people would stop calling Tim Tams cookies. They're biscuits.
fwiw, I've eaten more Tim Tams than anyone else at DU and I've never done that slam thing. Mainly coz I'm too busy eating it to worry about dunking it in my coffee, but also because when it first came out I thought it was pretty much a marketing tactic and resisted it...

(33,982 posts)One can ruin, or amazingly set off any particular bean/roast with a proper pairing. I'll have to track some of these down and give it a try.
Every week, my team does a half hour get together for coffee tasting, and we take turns picking the coffee and the pairing item, and preparing it. This could be a nice change of pace. Thanks for posting!

One of the best things to do with those is to nibble off all the edges of the chocolate and then dip it in your milk just until it starts to soften and then you eat it.
This seems very similar.

(41,832 posts)used like a straw, except for being hollow you have that wonderful flavor coming up from the coffee and cookie combined.r

(2,560 posts)Tim Tams are Australian and I'm an Aussie. But I live in Holland. Much to my delight, my wife found a woman who imports Australian biscuits into Holland. And she lives about 200 metres away!! They're a bit pricey, but not too bad. A couple of times a year, we and our kids put in an joint order for Tim Tams, Chocolate Mint Slices...heaven.
Never done the Slam. Might try it.

(41,832 posts)My friend from New Zealand sent me a bunch of cookies once, different flavors, and instructions how to do the slam. That was totally awesome of her to do that!!
