20 years of Bill Clinton (6 years of Barack Obama)

Getty Images was founded in 1995 and since has rooted itself as one of the biggest stock image and film footage suppliers in the world. No easy feat considering the rapid boom and bust of the early dot-com era and the growing presence of citizen photography / journalism in media. To celebrate, Getty has launched a range of ads featuring four distinct faces, who have been in the public eye for just as long, to mark its 20th year of operations and the 80 million still image archive that has been amassed.

Sao Paulo advertising agency AlmapBBDO sifted through Getty’s immense photo database which had collected 32,246 photos of Bill Clinton; former president of the United States, tennis player Serena Williams (54,831), actress Scarlett Johansson (23,570), and Prince William of England (68,480). The photos used for the ads were selected and chronologically sorted to document the passage of time for each face and the superfluous fashion trends that came with the time (perhaps easier seen in the ladies). Here’s to wondering what President Obama will look like in 20 years time!

So what are we trying to prove here? The old cliche that blacks age better than whites or that corruption and chicanery will take its toll.

But for Obama, it's just 6 years... The sequence is kinda cool but not really comparable unless they went back and compiled some pics of Obama starting back around a year or so before he was in the IL Senate (he was a state Senator from 1997 - 2004). For example, this pic from wikipedia from 1998 -

Perhaps the one they should have shown was Raygun, who was probably the only one who maintained that shoe-black in his hair the whole time... not a gray hair to be seen!
