(53,235 posts)Police said the incident involved "multiple juveniles at the location, who do not live in the area or have permission to be there, refusing to leave."
According to a statement from police spokeswoman Sabrina Boston, nine units were dispatched after the first responding officers "encountered a large crowd that refused to comply with police commands."

(50,983 posts)He can't stand for anyone to challenge his authority in even the smallest way. As in giving him an explanation as to what actually transpired.
He turned a minor incident into a huge deal for no reason. The people he was dealing with were not criminals. He didn't need to get rough with the girl and throw her to the ground. He certainly didn't need to pull his gun over such a minor incident.
I don't think he is fit to be a cop. This is the kind of guy we need to weed out.

(23,691 posts)"There was a fight, the cops showed up and started putting people on the ground for no reason," Brandon Brooks, who shot the video, told The Huffington Post in a message.
In the video, some partygoers are seen sitting in the grass and pleading "sir, we just came here for a birthday party, please." Another officer is heard thanking a group of teens for returning a flashlight the officer dropped.
Teens at the pool party told BuzzFeed News the police were called after a fight broke out between adults and teens at the pool. The teens said some adults made racist comments and told the teens to return to Section 8 [public] housing.
Brooks told BuzzFeed News several of the students were at the pool on guest passes for an end-of-school-year party.

(535 posts)I'm sure someone used some of those excuses.
I'm just sad at the fact some people are still excusing this behavior from police. Sad and maddening at the same time.

(10,056 posts)Beyond the stupid over reaction by the cop, is who all the white men wandering around were.
Why are they not being yelled at to stay out of the way?
They sure as fuck weren't helping any of these kids......

(4,234 posts)There's no threat of anything. Where are the criminals? This is just "fear" pure and simple. The cops are just afraid out of their gourds and they react as if they are facing a well-armed militia.
But what is it the cops are so afraid of? Black skin? Afraid of forgetting their lines? Somebody needs to give then a different script and then remind them that they are the ones who have the guns. They might also need to learn that communication is a two-way street.
Somebody needs to learn how to train these guys. The first lesson: LISTEN. Second lesson: RESPECT LAW-ABIDING CITIZENS Third lesson: ONLY PULL YOUR GUN IF THREATENED WITH A GUN OR KNIFE, etc. Fourth: RESPECT THE CRIMINALS TOO ONCE YOU HAVE THEM IN CUSTODY.
This is just sickening. Cops are supposed to be calm and under control. Instead they react instantly as if they're on a hair-trigger afraid that every noise or movement is a mortal threat. Afraid off everything and anything they see or suspect is there even tho it's not.
