So boring but I think many find it a great movie and would think it would go to far and actually hurt the progress going on right now. Best to leave that be for now at least.

Twelve Years a slave was based on fact.

Unfortunately, the racist fantasy involved pretty dresses, popular actors and beautiful cinematography, so it was a big smash.

Twelve Years a Slave was disturbingly real. Not exactly a date movie.
