Clueless Republicans Trust Wall Street With Social Security Funds

Jeb Bush says that the next president MUST privatize Social Security like his brother tried, and failed, to do. Jeb’s insistence that we hand over the only source of retirement security for millions of Americans to criminal banks is absurd, and just further shows that another Bush presidency would be a disaster for the public.

Ring of Fire’s Mike Papantonio and Farron Cousins discuss this.

That's why it's so despicable. They saw what happened to everyone's 401K's in 2007-2008. They just don't give a shit.

Just when great numbers were going to live high on the hog with their Wall Street gambling winnings. The plan was to get everyone's money in the market and make it disappear just when they need it. Watch what happens when the next large wave of workers reach retirement age.

We need Bernie for so many reasons, not the least of which is SS. Bernie wants to eliminate/increase the cap on SS withholding!

now the defined benefits that millions earned in Union contracts are now under attack-------------and with this gambit, just like the TPP........
Just think there are two Congressmen that are trying to "fast track" the gutting and privatize Social Security, because they are going around and saying the social program is under funded------------o--------these two men voted for this TPP and TPA and they are D-Delaney MD and R-Cole of OK---------
I can see my kids and other kids walking down a path trying to keep the cattle going to be sold at the market, no shoes, shorts a ratty hat, torn t-shirt and emaciated, because that is the only thing the family has left to buy bread and fish---------------is there cow
The 401k was a scam from the get go and always will be one---------place your bets folks-----------remember Wall Street owns the paper, they created this Ponzi scheme--------------they can make the 401k go up or down anytime they want to, just look at the book--------------Flash Boys-----case close-------------they did not care, just the Libor scheme, The Whale scheme, the article by Matt Tiabbi, exposing the political and corporate corruption and the blood sucking octopus

.. . I've been making this same observation about articles involving Republicans on any number of topics. They aren't stupid. Nor are they insane. The policies they are pursing on just about every front serve exactly the ends they are intended to serve. Those policies just seem clueless or insane to the rest of us, but only because we (some of us) make the mistake of thinking Republicans are ultimately looking for the same thing we are, but merely have a difference of opinion as to how to get there. That is, to my mind, one of the single most pernicious, and indeed, dangerous, myths out there, because it provides cover for Republicans, allowing them to seem as if they are merely incompetent, but otherwise benign. Today's Republican Party is NOT benign. It's actions, and its policy goals, are all carefully calculated to produce a result their paymasters want, which has little to do with what the rest of the country wants.
