This Weather Is Not Right

In this clip, David talks about climate change happening before his eyes, and its effects on agriculture. Summer is coming much later in the Midwest, and as of this post on July 3, 2015, mushrooms are still popping up due to the prolonged unusual cool temperatures and nearly constant moisture during the entire month of June.

Right now, there is increased volcanic activity in places like Chile and even Japan.

With that happening, you can expect wetter and cooler, anywhere where the Powers that Be are not diverting the normal weather pattern

And then there are those reports from Scandinavian scientists about the black op weather programs operated here in the USA and how that has a 15% detrimental effect on the global climate situation.

Meanwhile most Republican politicians insist that the climate is not changing, while the Democrats declare that "Yes, it is."

Yet the Democrats pursue the same damn weather-altering policies that the Republicans do. (Things like the anti-environment Trans Pacific Plan being enacted, the policy of endless war, and further endless military build up and "modernization" -- even though our military is larger than that of the next 24 nations combined!)

and, this is Portland Oregon. talk about messed up. We usually have maybe 6 or 7 days all summer in the high 90s or 100. Today will be over 100. The Jet stream is out of whack and I don't think it will fix itself sadly.

And I don't envy you on that front. But it's getting to be regular here that there is barely a summer until July, and that has its consequences as well.

Summer starts a bit late with lots of rain. Its backwards, the Midwest needs what we have and they are having Oregon's usually normal weather.

I don't remember this many days in a row with 90+. We may be looking like California before long if this keeps up.

For this time of year. The rivers are too warm killing off fish. It's horrible.

and I (and many locals) agree that "The Weather" is all fucked up.

We had a very wet Spring, and its been raining ever since. Early Blight and other humidity caused plant diseases (mold, powder fungus), not to mention the downpours washed our Spring crops right out of the ground..
We are planning a late season comeback and are replanting some things now.
We should get beans, Zucchini, and hopefully, some melons, and maybe even some late tomatoes & peppers if we are lucky.
It only costs seeds and minimal sweat, so why not take a shot?

We are working at adapting our planting calendar to the New Normal,
but the weather is so volatile that it is hard to look two weeks ahead.

Some things have done well in this wet Spring.
We will harvest a great Wild Blackberry crop, and the peaches still look good,
but we are pulling all the nightshades (Tomatoes, Potatoes, Peppers) and sending these blighted plants to the dump.

Many people in this area who regularly plant veggie gardens (and we are ALWAYS interested in some else's garden) have decided to skip this year.

I've got a whole row of wilted tomatoes. Zucchini has started to flower and I've got one fruit, but I'm really worried about root rot. Cantaloupes are showing brown rot on leaves. Lettuce greens are growing like gangbusters, but they should be having a hard time now this late in the season.

the entire systems of winds and precipitation changed. From what it looks like now, only California, Oregon and Washington state are dry, and will probably stay that way.
In Fernley, Nevada, the stock up station for Burning Man, the stores are selling air conditioners instead of swamp coolers. Swamp coolers don't work when the humidity is over 50%.
Climate Change, it's here for sure if this keeps up.
