Related: About this forumSanders and Warren Are Leading a New Political Revolution
The Democrats are beginning to see a surge in voter registrations, but they dont understand that the people like the partys left wing views. Instead, the Party is being led to the center, with only a few brave leaders trying to enact an honest progressive agenda.
Ring of Fires Mike Papantonio and Farron Cousins discuss this.

(13,141 posts)The first thing that comes to mind is that people like myself, who have been registered unaffiliated for a very long time (ego trip), are registering Democrat now -- in order to vote for Bernie!
Yes?
On my facebook feed, we have Native Americans for Bernie, Latinos for Bernie, New Mexicans for Bernie, and all sorts of Bernie Sanders for President groups.. soon we will have Conservatives for Bernie, Christians for Bernie, and more. I understand he intends to go into deeply conservative areas and speak to the people directly.

(454 posts)I've been registered unaffiliated for many years, since I was first able to vote, but I am allowed to choose to vote in either the republican or democrat primaries in my state. I usually vote in the republican primaries so I can vote for the most wackiest candidate who is least likely to ever win a general election if by some chance s/he won the primary, but next year, I plan to vote for Bernie in the democrat primary. For the very first time in forever, I am *finally* able to vote for someone other than the lesser of two evils, being that both parties have been handing our country over to corporations who have *no* loyalty to the U.S. and it's citizens. I *love* Bernie and really want him to win the primary and the election!

(2,065 posts)Like Obama's "all of the above" energy policy - arctic drilling and unlimited fracking while also expanding green energy??? With this kind of "balanced" energy policy, the net result is that our planet's still screwed and on its way to oblivion all the same.
Or - Obama bragging about what he's done to create jobs and reform health care - and then turning around to push through the TPP, which will wipe the slate clean of every bit of good he's done in those areas, and sell our whole country down the river to his big corporate and Wall Street donors??? Then what the heck will your bloody legacy mean when the late great USA gets tossed onto the trash heap of history as just another third world country?
Our country is so sick and out of balance today that working both sides of the fence merely to preserve a superficial semblance of balance will only assure that whatever you do will wind up being totally ineffectual, and will only preserve a status quo that is too unbalanced to be sustainable, or to even survive.
The way we restore true balance in this country is to start a political revolution to take back the power to where it really belongs in our democracy, and that's with We the People.
