Is This Marco Rubio’s Dumbest Idea Yet?

Democratic Presidential candidates Bernie Sanders and Martin O’Malley have proposed making college education free for all U.S. citizens, a model that is wildly popular in most European countries. This idea is also wildly popular among college students and recent graduates who are crippled by student loan debt.

But the Republican Party has a few ideas of their own to help students pay for college. Led by Marco Rubio, Republicans have proposed doing away with the federal student loan system, and replacing it with a model that would essentially turn college students into banking commodities.

Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this.

Students heavily burdened with debt, unable to find a decent job, unable to put together a down payment on a modest starter home, trapped in a crappy rental with several roommates?

OTOH, the U.S. spent enough on the failed Iraq War, that Clinton voted for, to fund every student in the next 25 years a college education at a local public university.
Bernies plan is entirely feasible if we re-asses our priorities.

The use of patrons donating money dates back to the middle ages - i.e. da vinci. What you really have here is a form of indentured
servitude whose sole purpose is to insure that only the children of the rich can go to college!

our political system is for clowns, total idiots like this. And they get to keep the money they don't spend. 1% gets a free ride again and we have to pay for that free ride, ultimately. Nixon, Reagan, Bush have put this country low into the gutter, politically, socially, racially, economically....these clowns on the current Repugthug clown bus sicken me every time I have to look at one. I don't listen, ever. What a scam these crooks perpetrate.
