In the 2014 midterm elections, Democrats were soundly defeated by Republican candidates. However, in states all over this country, progressive referendums and ballot initiatives were being passed in record numbers everything from increasing the minimum wage to legalizing marijuana. So while Democratic candidates got the boot, progressive ideas that were not attached to a politician or a political party were wildly successful. Voters want progressive policies, and thats where we need to focus.
