There is no way that the evidence ever reached the threshold of guilty in the first place. The court case was a sham.

But because there is no upside politically for any President to pardon him, he will remain there. Bill Clinton never did. Obama is no different.

Obama, or any President for that matter, could never grant clemency because it involved the death of a law enforcement officer. Peltier can only hope new evidence comes forth which would call for a new trial.
