Wish I'd seen that episode. The least my local TV Guide could have done was give me the heads-up.

(39,909 posts)The entire Democratic Party, beginning with Nancy Pelosi (then Speaker of the House) is responsible for letting these World Class Murders & Crooks run free.
You know, at one time, the USA had an "Opposition Party".
NOW, its ALL "You cover my ass, and I'll cover yours,
and FUCK the citizens of America and the World."
THIS is ALL about US, and ONLY us.
Justice=Just Us
You will know them by their WORKS!

(39,909 posts)...two years before Obama was elected. THAT was when Pelosi took investigations of criminality in the Bush Administration "off the table".
THAT set the precedent.
...and , YES, the leader always must shoulder the blame.
President Obama certainly should have known better than to "pal around" with World Class Mass Murders like Bush & entourage.

(62,325 posts)we 'had the Senate and the WH' that Congress couldn't do it alone. So we did that. Then we were told we were 'moving forward'.
That is when people began to see the whole picture for the first time.

(32,324 posts)Too damn busy to handle dealing with the Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld war crimes.
However the Democratic majority Congress did have the time to recalibrate the postal rates. They helped Amazon to a really nice big piece of For Profits Pie.
Amazon now has their deliveries handled by the US Postal Service, even on Sundays! At a reduced rate. (Which is why they can offer their shipping free to the consumer.)
Who pays? We in the small business world have to pony up to make up for the deep discounts Congress offered Amazon.
Clearly it was far too important to the leading members of Congress to help out Jeff Bezos, rather than make the Bush Administration pay for their crimes. And I still have no idea of what the quid pro quo for these leading members happened to be? But it would not at all surprise me to find out their families can get cozy and "no work required" executive level positions at Amazon for the next Millenium!

Whatever works for you.
I still prefer reasoned opinions backed with support and references.
You just keep taking shots in the dark if that makes you happy.
At least you don't have to see your "misses".

(18,124 posts)Is that clear enough for you. America is divided into camps now, racial, political, haves, have some and have not's.. Don't talk to me about division. Actually it seems to be, whatever works for the privileged is what counts. Like you. Typical.

(62,325 posts)Congress and Senate, though now that we know more about the entire 'rigged system' (thank you Elizabeth Warren) might have tried, but most likely would not have had the cooperation of Dems to get the appropriate prosecutions.
Get the MONEY OUT OF POLITICS! The most important issue in this campaign. And one that polls show over 80% of Americans agree with.
THAT, says Joe Biden in agreement with Bernie who admits that one person cannot do much alone, has to be the #1 issue in this campaign, because Biden says 'until that is accomplished, NOTHING else can be'.

(14,870 posts)They did so with the OK of the Bush Administration. When Obama took office many of the same people were in the government, they didn't change with a new administration. How can you simply prosecute Bush/Cheney without going deeper into the mess? All the underlings who went along with it. It's a colossal can of worms Obama wouldn't open because the fact is, it would have exposed what the National Security State is doing in our name, and has been doing for decades. Not to mention that these folks have information on everyone, including Obama. Remember when they eavesdropped on the Senate Committee investigating them?

(7,770 posts)President Bush came out of that meeting with President Elect Obama looking like he didn't have a care in the world.
I knew then, there'd be no consequences for Bush & Co.

(10,336 posts)can you just imagine if he had tried? My God, they'd have gotten to him before he could get to the safety of JFK's limousine. But I sure get your point. I too, am quite disappointed that it does appear Bushco might get off Scot-free. (no offense to the Scottish, I actually don't know where that phrase comes from)

(14,459 posts)That said, selling your soul is always your own decision. Someone else(Hillary?) would have been happy to do it in his place, but that does no absolve the one who does it.
scot-free (adj.) Look up scot-free at Dictionary.com
Old English scotfreo "exempt from royal tax," from scot "royal tax," from Old Norse skot "contribution," literally "a shooting, shot; thing shot, missile," from PIE *skeud- "to shoot, chase, throw" (see shoot (v.); the Old Norse verb form, skjota, has a secondary sense of "transfer to another; pay" + freo (see free (adj.)). First element related to Old English sceotan "to pay, contribute," Dutch schot, German Schoß "tax, contribution." French écot "share" (Old French escot) is from Germanic.

I actually listened when he said "the change I seek might not happen in my life time" it means that battle never ends.
We still have more work to do. An example would be a national non discrimination law to protect our LGBT citizens from being fired from there jobs for who.

(36,594 posts)I just remember becoming so disillusioned. POTUS Obama has been fantastic on so many levels. But this, I believe, is a stain on his presidency and our nation. War criminals are not only walking free but are celebrated by a frightening amount of people.

As for making DU happy, that would come naturally from the above.
