...I think they know the assertion that people can now marry lawnmowers is absurd, but their point is really to make gay marriage seem invalid and not as "real" as a heterosexual marriage. The good news is that they're pretty much preaching to the choir at this point. Ten years back they could scare fairly rational folk into thinking that gay marriage would mean all kinds of crazy things. Now they only re-convince those who already believe it.
