You could TRY to force my kids to convert, but they would most likely laugh in your winkled old face and scoff at you as they left the room saying "Can you believe the gall of that crazy old man? Trying to get me to talk to Jeebus? HaHa!"

(Edit - THAT is exactly why we have no relationship with my wife's father at all... he is a Bible thumping hypocrite and the kind of "Christian" that would choose his second wife and her biological child as his "family" while foresaking his own flesh and blood daughter to please the second wife. My kids are better off without grandparents of that ilk and they know it.)

blankets to those who believe, and God( Proper names should be capitalized, no need to capitalize pronouns) "write your own persona, picking and choosing from the Bible as you wish." He's pretty much a split personality. It would, indeed have helped to know which parent was the child of the concerned "Christian" grandparents. Either way, Pat's suggestion could lead to a pretty hairy family dynamic.

At the core of all religions there is the healthy human desire to see some meaning in life... Institutions take over and manipulate this desire to control people.
