Jen Senko talks with BlogTalkRadio host Tony Trupiano [link:http://blogtalkradio.com/votp| about how Jen Senko's father was brainwashed by right wing talk radio and Fox News.
Jen has done a documentary about the process that literally brainwashed her father while driving to work alone and watching Fox News turned him against all kinds of people and made him angry and isolated.

(36,392 posts)I was raised by a JFK/LBJ/NAACP liberal. The sweetest, kindest, most honest and patient man I ever met. Also brilliant.
Then when he was about 60, my brother convinced him that everything on t.v., radio, and in the newspaper was communist propaganda, so he started listening to limpballs every day, then staring at Fox news when that came on. He spent his last 18 years as a grouchy, bitter racist who could no longer see the truth through the hate radio propaganda.
Fox might be the worst thing to ever happen to the US.

(67,109 posts)war and can be just as devastating as a physical war. Fox News IMO is working hard to destroy the fiber of this nation, but many Americans can't seem to grasp what is going on. Fox News is a propaganda machine of the worst type and is dangerous to the future of this country.

As an aside, wouldn't you think the Glenn Beck, who had been saying over and over that we are in crisis, listeners would notice that things keep not falling apart?

(16,230 posts)It looks good.
I'd also recommend "Outfoxed", which is another good movie on this subject. Also, George Lakoff's "Don't think of an elephant".
Hillary Clinton has been mocked for her "vast right-wing conspiracy" comment, but she was right on the money.

(128 posts)This was posted a while ago but it does help to explain what happens and why - and it is an insidious approach to brainwashing.
In short - it's deliberate

(3,373 posts)Democrats, and now they are finding that this invented constituency is not so easy to control and that it dislikes establishment Republicans almost as much as it has been trained to dislike Democrats.
I don't mean to imply that Trump can ride this wave much higher than 25%-30% of the Republican primary (an impressive caucus in a 17 candidate race but not as powerful when the race winds down to 3 or 4 candidates), but Trump is not a flavor-of-the-month like Bachmann, Cain, Perry and Gingrich were in 2012 (peaked-too-early Walker might be more like the current equivalent to Bachmann, Cain, Perry and Gingrich).
If Trump runs a third party campaign (unlike but not inconceivable), I think the right-wing-talk constituency will follow Trump rather than vote for Bush or Clinton.
