I live in Mobile, and the fire marshal said he had just under 20,000 people at his little Rally at Ladd Stadium. It fits with the capacity, which is 43,000, the fact that the end zone where he was speaking was filled, and about half of both sides were filled, the far endzone had no one, and very few were allowed on the field. So that is roughly half the seats filled. There was footage on Rachel Maddow while he was speaking that showed this to be true.

Another article had it at 18,000. The 31,000 number he cites is manufactured, in order to "seem" as big as Sanders rallies.
