Related: About this forumBiden Secretly Meets With Top Obama Bundler (and Hillary Supporter)- Report
Mark Halperin and John Heilemann discuss Joe Bidens potential run for president, as well as Bernie Sanders' visit to Liberty University on With All Due Respect.
Heilemann says Biden is much more gung-ho about running than he was just one month ago and the mechanics are being set up to make it possible for him to run, should he decide to step into the race.
John believes current thinking is that Biden may not even announce in time for the first Democratic debate, allowing Clinton to appear for her Benghazi testimony in October and see how that affects her, and allowing Biden's family another month to get emotionally ready to take on a candidacy.
An interesting watch....
(Can jump to 15:30 for Bernie at Liberty University segment)

But I guess TV is entertainment.

(57,936 posts)I listened all the way through until the Trump hat portion -- couldn't take that bit.
The first part was the usual sportscast view of politics. Who's out there hitting the balls. Whose ball is faster. Who is going to make it to first base.
Honestly, reminded me of the baseball game broadcasts my dad used to listen to on his radio in his car. (A family of women with one poor baseball fan exiled to his car for the sportscasts. I really feel bad about the fact that he was exiled by the feminine hoard in his home but now that he is gone, I can only wish I could tell him that I realize too late it wasn't fair. Some people just like that sportscaster approach. We are all brothers and sisters so it is ok.)
Anyway, the first part of the video is an example of everything wrong not just with political reporting but with politics today. I'm trying to be kind, but it is difficult.
And then the reporting on Bernie at Liberty. Even these jaded, superficial pundits changed their tone. Bernie just is the real thing. No matter how hackneyed the reporting, no matter how bored the reporters, Bernie inspires respect even awe because he really cares.
So in spite of the cluttered, belabored, time-filling commentary in the beginning of the video, Bernie won even those cynics over in a strange way.
Bernie's honest, righteous spirit is just contagious. His sincerity, his devotion to making our country a better place for all of our citizens is just so real that even these bozos can't resist or ruin it.
Go, Bernie.
Feel the Bern.
Feel the moral message at Liberty University.
Bernie's appearance and reception at Liberty University served him, the University and the cause of a moral America all very well.
And while I am at it.
Thanks, Liberty University students for your courteous reception of Bernie. Don't ruin it with snarkiness now because your stock just rose on the employability index after your courtesy to Bernie.
No one expects you to convert to Democratic liberal politics, but you really came across as normal people today. That's a definite step in the right direction for our whole country. We all owe each other a little more respect and compassion. Not just talking about other people. Talking about myself as well.
Thanks, students, again for setting the good example.
And no, I am not in any way associated with Liberty University. Held it in total contempt until today. Please forgive me.
