Idiot Alaskan Governor Says We Can Drill Our Way Out of Climate Change

Alaskan governor Bill Walker says that in order to pay for the cost of climate change, we should let the oil companies have their way with Alaska. Not only is this the dumbest idea to come out of Alaska in recent years, but it shows that there is clearly something wrong with Alaskan politicians.

Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

Setting aside, for the moment, the issue of climate change, fuel is only one of a zillion things we use petroleum for. Long after we've ceased using it for fuel, we will likely to continue to have a need for it for many other products. As I understand it, there is really no adequate substitute for petroleum in the production of plastics and synthetic rubber products. Given that, is it really a wise idea to pull every obtainable drop out of the earth now?
