Rachel Maddow Bitchslaps the GOP

This is a few weeks old; but, still very relevant. Rachel and Sen. Bernie Sanders discuss the way that Republicans are responding to the outrage over the Ryan Budget by pouring millions of dollars into 'damage control.'

It really makes me want to give up. There is no way The Left can compete. There is just so much more money on the right so they control all the talking points. Look what's happening in Wisc. The recall will probably fail because of all the money.

Think about it. The rich Corp bust the unions to stop organization to let fellow union members know the truth & to help get out the vote. They make it harder for people to vote, Then they out spend their opponents 10 to 1 or 20 to 1 to control the media/airwaves.

This country is a joke & its only getting worse.

I talk to so many people here in York, PA that vote against their interest all the time. Because they believe the little sound clips & fox news. These people are middle class & too busy to follow what's really going on.

It makes me want to cry where this country is heading and there isnt much you can do to stop it.

Really the only hope is after the Rich run this country into the ground that people will someday wake up. But I have a feeling then it will be too late.

...the recall hasn't happened yet, and there's still time (though I grant you, it's running out).

Remember that feelings of despair and hopelessness among their political opponents, are exactly what the Republicans want. They want us feeling this way, because it tends to depress voter turnout (and remember what Paul Weyrich had to say about voter turnout in 1980?)

Whatever the result of the WI recall, I know where I stand and I have no shame in stating it, regardless of what Walker and his puppeteers say.

We can't afford to give in to these people. The recall is one battle in a much bigger war (for lack of a better word) for the soul of this country. There will be other battles coming down the road - the biggest, of course, keeping r-money out of the Oval Office.

I conclude with this - they can laugh now, but let's see 'em laugh after Obama dispatches with r-money in the debates. If his public appearances during the primaries were any indication (where trees have to be just the right height, and corporations are people, my friend), then as long as we show up to vote, we shouldn't have too much to worry about.

And no matter how loudly people yell, no matter how many Rachel Maddow's speak out against it, it's not enough.

I feel you. I am retired from the military (Navy Reserve) and I saw and continue to see the same mentality you point out. I am in a Union and I see our members talking out of both sides of their mouths. It is clear the repubs hate everything we stand for as a union. They destroy the military with their chicken hawk ways but still so many of them vote for Repub. If I were not looking ,my coworkers in the face I would swear I was listening to Rush, Hanity, Walker, or Fox News.

Also, How in the hell do these religious idiots get away with sticking their noses in politics without losing their tax exempt status. I am an atheist/Humanist and I just drives me nuts knowing that religious institutions are pushing the right wing agenda, or any political agenda.

At a min I try to steer them to register as an independent (unaffiliated in MD) and vote for the candidate that holds their best interest at heart. I don't feel like it works though.

to paraphrase the colonel from "Good Morning Viet Nam", I've got a trail of shit behind me a mile long. That doesn't seem to be stopping Rmoney, but I also don't have millions to throw at a useless campaign.

Other than the endless commercials, her show is entertaining but I'm already very aware of what pigs repukes are.
