And I remember how many Americans poured out onto the streets in protest of
this trumped up 'war' so it's not like the people weren't making their feelings about an attack on Iraq
well known (though news coverage was spotty at best). When Hillary signed on for the
war is the moment I gave up on her. And she hasn't explained herself since in a way
that would give her a pass. I don't trust her on foreign policy.

who protested the illegal invasion of Iraq. I remember it was bitterly cold (wind chill of -17 degrees). The mainstream media had positioned their cameras at the edges of our massive crowd and were filming areas where protesters were few in number. I remember saying to my friends, "they're gonna allege that there were very few people protesting today." Of course, that's exactly what happened.

That was the first protest I'd experienced where the press was clearly co-opted by the corporate megalomaniacs who've usurped our media, our politics, AND our global economy.

I grieve for our younglings, who will bear the brunt of our hubris.

A meme from the era that has stuck with me is that this era produced the largest number of anti-waR PROTESTS in all of human history!

We must try harder next time, which I think just got their new Pearl Harbor yesterday.

Sometimes it's the timing of things that gets you, but can not avoid.

O'M has already come out with a strong statement on terrorism in general and an intelligent design to fight it.

only hardliners and fundies and oillionaires were for--it was a GOP project 100%, plus the likes of Zell and Lieberman; it was a project by babbling neocons who wanted to invade every country twice just so nobody looked funny at us (especially you, Seychelles), the ones who wanted to pen up the petroleum so they could buy that 10-kitchen 90,000-square foot house, the Aquanets and pompadours bawling about witchcraft and tea boxes and left-handed people on TV 3 hours at a stretch

but now it was LEGITIMATE topic of political discourse, something that had managed to "convince the liberals," something that SENSIBLE people could talk about ever so REASONABLY; now it wasn't just a partisan football but national policy, now politics DID "stop at the water's edge," now it was a consensus that only a minority of Senators opposed

Voters don't have to follow what policies were promoted, etc. They don't have to take time to see what the other candidates (Sanders) is all about...that's too much effort. People paying attention know a corporate dem when they hear one. Sanders has been Sanders all along and stands for what most people claim they want...which is why Debbie Wasserman Schultz doesn't want Bernie to get national exposure or debate with Hillary...She's another corporate dem looking for favorite Hillary status and position. I wish voters could see past this facade cause Bernie is for real.

That's all you've got?

Um, the guy who perpetrated 9-11 was living in Afghanistan. For any logical, intelligent person, that would be the place take military action, no? Iraq? 4K+ Americans and hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis died for nothing and The Goldman Girl voted in favor of it. So much for political expedient votes verses voting one's conscience. That's the essence of my beef with Hillary. She's a great politician, but just like Big Dog, she has no soul.

21. or that Bernie Sanders supports keeping troops in Afghanistan
Sat Nov 14, 2015, 09:59 PM
Nov 2015

WASHINGTON -- Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said Sunday that he supports President Barack Obama's decision to keep troops in Afghanistan, prolonging the war beyond 2016.

Obama announced last week that he would keep 5,500 U.S. troops in Afghanistan after he leaves office in 2017, breaking his promise to end the war during his tenure. He originally planned to maintain only a small military presence based at the U.S. embassy there.

During an interview on ABC's "This Week" on Sunday morning, host George Stephanopoulos asked Sanders, a Democratic presidential candidate, whether he backs keeping U.S. troops in the country.

"Well, yeah, I won't give you the exact number. Clearly, we do not want to see the Taliban gain more power, and I think we need a certain nucleus of American troops present in Afghanistan to try to provide the training and support the Afghan army needs," he said.

told us exactly what would happen. AND IT HAS! What George Bush started created a LANDSLIDE that had la need us smack dab in the middle of CHAOS!

Even I said this way back then!

It's too bad that too many people will COME TO THE CONCLUSION that we need Hillary Clinton to lead us out of this mess simply because they will say SHE'S EXPERIENCED!

Yeah, but THAT experience WAS THE WRONG experience! I'm afraid this country is so far in to WAR AS THE ANSWER that too many believe we have a magic wand to fix this! WE HAVEN'T SO FAR, and MORE WAR ain't gonna do it!

IT HAS TO STOP, or America will carry the stain of blood on it's hands forever and we may never be able to wash it off!
