Bernie Sanders Is Right: Climate Change IS A National Security Threat

So far, in every Democratic debate that we’ve had, Senator Bernie Sanders has brought up the fact that climate change is the greatest national security threat facing America today.

And he is spot on with his analysis.

While his claims were attacked by his opponents on the Republican side, the Pentagon has been making the claim that climate change is a national security threat for the last 12 years.

The Pentagon has had that position for years. The CIA has long been studying the effects climate change will have on international stability and trying to anticipate problems before the arise. Unfortunately, the Pentagon and the CIA do not enforce environmental policy.

They also say we need to bring back manufacturing, improve our infrastructure and stop sending key technologies overseas for manufacture. Damned liberals. (sarcasm [not for you but just in case])

When I was in Greece last fall, I had the opportunity to ask some Syrian refugees about the causes for their civil war. And when I brought up the theory that climate change was playing a big role, they all scoffed at that possibility.

I'm not sure the average Syrian farmer has been exposed to much of the popular or scientific literature on climate change.
