6. Well, after watching the add I tend to agree

I watched the ad with an eye towards what an undecided voter or someone who doesn't pay much attention to politics would think about it. I hate to admit that I came away with the impression that it will leave a lot of people scratching their heads thinking "huh ???".

7. If the purpose of the ad is to convince center-right independents to consider voting for Obama - you

are probably right. It would not be very successful at doing that. But if on the other hand the purpose is specifically timed to take the focus off Romney clinching the GOP nomination and put the Romney campaign on the defensive about its associations with Trump, birthers and extremist - I think the add is surving its purpose very well.
