The upside of Donald Trump attacking muslims, saying there should be a total ban on them, is that he’s gotten Fox News to actually defend muslims. Despite the fact that it’s unconstitutional and anti-American, the media is now going to debate this. Cenk Uygur, hosts of the The Young Turks, break it down. "Bill O’Reilly got pretty heated with Lou Dobbsand Stu Varney tonight after they defendedDonald Trump‘s Muslim entry ban. At the top of his show, O’Reilly bluntly told Trump it’s a terrible idea because it alienates the United States’ Muslim allies and insults an entire religion.

O’Reilly again made the same point, but Dobbs argued that both the Democrats and Republicans have failed in fighting the war on terror, so maybe Trump’s onto something. Varney added that Trump had very “strong” responses to O’Reilly.

O’Reilly cried, “Come on! Both of you must know geopolitically, to win a war against a decentralized enemy… you need as many people on the ground close to them as possible.””*

3. We make a mistake ignoring the power of Right Wing Media

Fox News is the Number One rated cable "news" network. Rush Limbaugh is the Number One rated radio show, followed by Mark Levine, Glenn Beck, Savage. Top websites; Brietbart and Drudge.

The mainstream media is now the conservative media. There are million of Americans who are totally immersed in nothing but right wing hate talk. Fox News even changed its on screen logo to a spinning icon because people kept their TVs turned to that channel so long that the image was being burned into their sets.

If you wonder where your unhinged neighbor or co worker or relative is getting his BS from, the answer is all around us.

4. I stopped when O'Reilly said "you gotta be smart"

I am smarter for stopping the video. The Fox audience loves those three guys, and I don't completey understand the pathological steps taken to make Fox News the most trusted cable news station.

I always figured it started with Rush, but to completely remove reason from such a huge sector of population....maybe I need to re read John Dean's Conservatives without Conscious.
