TYT: Chinese Now Paying For Cans Of Fresh Air

Pollution in China has gotten so bad that one Canadian company is successfully selling aerosol cans of fresh air to people living in the country. The wealthy of China are apparently paying well for the chance to breathe non-polluted air, if only for a brief time. Cenk Uygur, Ana Kasparian (The Point), and John Iadarola (Think Tank), hosts of the The Young Turks, break it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below.

"Is imported air the solution to China's smog problem?

A Canadian company selling air bottled in a ski resort says it's now seeing huge demand from Chinese customers.

Vitality Air said that the first batch of 500 canisters filled with fresh air from the Rocky Mountain town of Banff went on sale in China last month and sold out within two weeks.

"Now we're taking lots of pre orders for our upcoming shipment. We're getting close to the 1,000 mark," said Harrison Wang, director of China operations.

The air sells for $14 to $20, depending on the size of the canister.

Northern China is often cloaked in smog, especially during the cold winter months when homes and power plants burn coal to keep warm. Last week, Beijing issued its first ever red alert because of poor air quality, closing schools and restricting traffic.”*

Besides, making and shipping (halfway around the world!) these cans of air is energy-intensive and only adds to GHG emission. Except for the ridiculous profit, this is one of the most ill-considered ideas ever.

... was CEO, and is now chairman of the board of Nestle. He is evil down to his DNA. He once said that no one has a right to clean water. He also gave a convoluted rationalization for why it was perfectly acceptable for Nestle to rob poor people of their water without paying them a dime for it, the selling it back to them with the snide comment that dying of thirst was reported to be very unpleasant. The bribing of government officials for access to the aquifers wasn't mentioned.

I believe there are some weasels in California who should be subjected to enhanced interrogation for their role in kneecapping an investigation into why Nestle was allowed to continue pumping water from long-expired leases, even during a drought.

The 99% continue to allow the 1% to stuff their pockets at our expense. When it gets to the point we buy bottled water and canned air why aren't we as a worldwide mass of people rising up to demand safe living conditions?

or even better a better filtering wearable air filter? this product makes little sense. If you are wondering, oxygen is already being sold in pharmacies
