Related: About this forumProgressives Agree: Debbie Wasserman Schultz Has To Go
In the early days of the year, progressives from all over the country have been raising their collective voices calling for Schultzs ouster, mainly due to the fact that she is clearly causing harm to the Democratic primary races in an effort to better aid Hillary Clintons chances of winning the nomination.
If you dont buy into the idea that Wasserman Schultz is rigging the system for Hillary, there are still plenty of other reasons to think that its past time for her to go.

Debbie is doing that with Hillary.

(67,782 posts)I could just as easily type "Progressives agree: Debbie Wasserman Schultz is doing an excellent job".

(57,936 posts)She is incompetent. The election results in 2010 and 2014 prove it. In fact all the election results would have been better had we had a better leader for our Party.
Debbie Wasserman Schultz has helped to make a mess of the Democratic Party.

(67,782 posts)I find it very interesting that the people most critical of the CHAIR of the Democratic National Committee are supporters of the only candidate who never had any use for the Democratic Party and has done nothing for the Party throughout his entire political career.

(47,586 posts)She IS incompetent. This isn't just about what appears to be a rigged primary, it is also about the House, the Senate, state legislatures, and governorships. How many elections will her incompetence cost us this time?
I've signed every petition I can find. We have too much to lose and we can't afford her as DNC chair.

(5,400 posts)The most basic goal of our party is to advance our platform, for the benefit of the people. Senator Sanders has been an ally of that, and even before our party became as progressive as it is today.
Were Progressives to be be primarily party loyalists, we'd have stuck with the so called "party of Lincoln" all through the 1900s. We're Democrats (imo) not primarily because we pal around/identify with the party leaders, but because our party is the best tool to advance our agenda.
When a top leader turns into a Joe Lieberman, or acts like a Rod Blagojevich, we should sever our ties.

(18,641 posts)I watched just to see how that overwhelming consensus was arrived at and only heard an opinion piece from Ring Of Fire, presumably the voice of liberals everywhere.
I guess it could be argued that the person in the video speaks for every single progressive in the country, and anyone who supports Schultz (or Hillary) is not a progressive, but that sounds conveniently skewed toward Sanders supporters. Obviously, if she was perhaps unfairly pulling for Bernie she'd be hoisted to political sainthood by many here.
Sometimes people get taken in by the heady ozone of a spirited primary season and make inane statements. I refuse to believe that all staunch progressives are on the Sanders side, nor vice versa.

(57,936 posts)and 2014 elections. Probably in all elections since she took the leadership post.
She is doing a terrible job and should resign.

(39,909 posts)They are well satisfied with her performance of getting rid of Liberals in the Democratic party...even if it means NOT endorsing Democrats, and helping to elect Business "Friendly" Republicans.
She keeps her job BECAUSE the Party Leadership LIKES what she is doing.
With "partners" like this, we don't need Republicans!

(20,453 posts)You want to raise some funds for the DNConvention, convention goers? Do ya?
Okay, you KNOW DWS will likely be re-elected, and somebody reading this will know how to manufacture hand puppets.
Make that puppet look like DWS (it ain't hard!) and sell a bunch of them. Hell, I'd buy one now and be motivated to produce my own Muppet Show - the SELL OUT years!
Think of it!

It wasn't much, especially after Congress drank my COLA. BTW, could somebody from Camp Weathervane tell me how DWS voted on that?
