That does put this interaction in a different context. Kids will be kids.

Pushing her arm away a couple of times to give her some kisses and show her some affection does not seem nearly as creepy to me if it is his own child. I do still think it looks a little bit icky, though.

He looks right at the camera in front of him with a kind of guilty look for a second right afterward. The look seems to me to say, "Oops, I tried to force a kiss on my daughter for a photo-op, and that did not go as planned. In fact, that probably looked bad instead of good. Whoops."

I feel like it's still a genuine reaction on her part, so it's fair game. I would have chosen a different title for the post if I had had this context. I appreciate the information that it is his daughter. It's not nearly as creepy.

He is still a creep, in my opinion. And he still makes my skin crawl.

It's not dirty politics because when strictlyrockers posted this, he/she thought it was just a random girl (and that would make anyone's skin crawl!). But, now knowing that it's cruz's daughter, striclyrocker points out he's still a scumbag because he probably only did that for a photo op (which actually backfired)!

The girl is his seven-year-old daughter. Not only can kids be petulant and surly, she is probably very tired and BORED with campaigning and attending boring speeches and rallies. To read into this and even say he is molesting her is really low stuff.
