Related: About this forumHillary Should Be Terrified By Iowa Caucus Results; Bernie’s The Real Deal
The Iowa Caucus is over, and Hillary Clinton barely managed to take the win. Should she be content with the Iowa win, or are the results proof that Bernie Sanders is the real deal? Ring of Fires Farron Cousins and Mike Papantonio discuss this.

OP
If there was ever any doubt he was a credible threat, I'd say that was cleared up.

Bernie'sthree top issues entire campaign platform is the economy, income inequality and health care.
Voters whose top issue was the economy broke for Clinton 51-42.
Voters whose top issue was health care broke for Clinton 59-38.
Voters whose top issue was income inequality broke for Sanders 61-34.
And in the group whose top issue was terrorism, Clinton smoked Sanders like a cheap cigar.
(This is weird: At the bottom of the chart there's a question about maintaining Obama's policies after he goes into retirement. Hillary took the "continue Obama's policies" slice; Sanders took both the "adopt more liberal policies" and "adopt less liberal policies" voters.)
If you have three issues and people don't trust you on two of them, you're fucked.

And WHAT were his odds when he stepped into this contest? When it comes to "smokin'", someone ought to invest in some fire retardant pants suits.

(50,560 posts)5. It's not "when he stepped into this contest" now, is it?
It is not August 2015. It is February 2016. He has been selling his ideas for many months...and on the day when they were put to the popularity test, they failed.

They'll be more fun to bandy about in four weeks.

Hillary Clinton called for intensifying the U.S. attack on terror groups by launching an intelligence surge, deploying more special operations forces to Iraq and Syria, directly arming Kurd and Sunni fighters, and establishing a Syrian no-fly zone to undergird U.S. efforts at peace talks.
