(747 posts)Instead of voting for better policies, they chose to "flatline" themselves from change and settle for the status quo. And those two just look so happy on the segment.

(22,672 posts)We reject the GOP, their hate, their anger and their stupidity. We encourage all democrats to voice their opinions openly and respectfully. We're united in our goal to move this country forward in a positive way, whether that brings us hardships and struggles, we are willing to accept the challenges we are presented with.
This is another defining election in our lifetime.
If advancing progressive ideals is flatlining, sign me up.
If expanding our wetlands and wildlife habitats for future generations is flatlining, sign me up.
If advancing a level tax system from the Clinton years brings us another decade of unprecedented prosperity while we advance our country forward in a progressive way, sign me up.
If our nation is more safe because of our world standing, as during the Clinton years where nearly every nation's peoples had a favorable opinion of America, sign me up.
If cleaner air and cleaner water can be in our future and that is flatlining, sign me up.
If we have a president who receives a PDB a month before an attack on our nations soil and acts, whether we're attacked or not is mute. It's far better than what we got from Dubya, sitting on his hands, flat footed, waiting for it to happen. I don't want more American lives needlessly lost because of inept Republicans. Democrats keep America safe. Republicans are mostly cowards who think a pistol makes them tough. That party has lost its way.
These are just the top 10 from a list of 335 of PBO's achievements. If that's flatlining for progressive values, I'd say that's a good thing and sign me up.

(22,672 posts)effort trying to fix it and 20% of their resources on the 80% that was right. Inevitably, the 80% that was right slowly erodes, turning to crap and we're left with a country in disarray. While Democrats find something with 80% right about it and focus 80% of our resources making sure that 80% is maintained and 20% of our resources on the 20% that needs improving. It's the baby with the bathwater argument.
I don't agree with TPP either, but neither candidate can withstand you and I teaming our collective sides up to sway their decision. PBO changed his mind in just this manner. He got our country back to that 80% right way of doing things. Let's not loose sight of the difficulties it took getting there.

(747 posts)I like Obama like everybody else, but this deal WILL, in my view, finish the middle class off.
We all know the GOP are dirty, but there are some bad apples on the DEMS side also.
With that aside, this is what I'm sensing:
ffr - I'll settle with what we already have now
des - It's a good start. Let's work for something better
ffr - I'm good where things are now
Des- The sky's the limit. Let's continue rising
ffr - I like my healthcare premiums
Des - I like Universal Health Care with a side of Public Option. Fuck premiums
ffr - No we can't
Des - YES WE WILL

(22,672 posts)or research or stories or facts or put words into peoples' mouths they didn't say. That's a tactic that Republicans use. It's fair game to use what people say against them, if you decide to do that, but do so without taking it out of context.
You may be right in your points about TPP. Let's work together to prevent it from going forward. I rarely demonize fellow Democrats, simply due to the 80/20 rule. If we learn nothing else from our interactions with others, let's hope we grasp that we're all not going to agree 100% with each other 100% of the time. So long as we all accept that, there's little to prevent us as a collective from doing great things -- together.

(978 posts)Hillary tried to derail and started an avalanche on dirty tactics against.
I wonder how many Obama supporters today were voting Hillary 8 years ago are trying to portray Bernie supporters as racist and then claim some form of eternal loaylty to a president they once smeared.
If you vote Hilary, you may reject the GOP, but you do not reject GOP economic policies and TPP. In fact, you'd be rewarding bad behavior and incompetence if you did. That's a tainted vote.

(528 posts)Before you get all your undies in a wad. Look at the Nevada Caucus videos which show Nevada was worthless. Not all the delegates were chosen and the leader was lost. Then look at who CCN used to get their poll numbers (themselves) and they weren't "exit polls" they're entrance polls before they elected a delegate or possibly had their minds changed...

(11,843 posts)As your undies appear to be prewadded, let me assume that you have never attended a caucus. Choosing delegates is something that happens after allocating the delegates - everyone who isn't interested in being a delegate can leave. There is literally no point in staying , the event is over, if you don't have the time or desire to be a delegate.
You may choose to believe that what happened at one, out of thousands, of caucus sites was representative of the entire state. You do understand that the entire state of Nevada wasn't in that room?
You may choose to believe obviously biased reporting (granted, the caucus leader in that video was overwhelmed), but the reporter clearly had an agenda.
What I don't understand is why the caucuses are not held the same day. The Democratic caucus was held yesterday and accepted same day registration. The Republican caucus is next Tuesday, but registration halted on the 13th. It will be possible to identify Republicans attending both caucuses, but that will require investigation and prosecution by Nevada's Republican Secretary of State. Having both at the same time would absolutely prevent double dipping.
