(205 posts)I can't believe this makes sense to the Alaska legislators.
It is ridiculous logic.

(55 posts)This will not go over well. Alaska seems to have a special reverence for long time residents as opposed to the opportunistic new comers in who live in Wasilla.

(5,106 posts)years? What bullshit! Why don't they just put these seniors on a chunk of ice and float them out to sea? I'm pretty sure Alaska is not being flooded with seniors from other states retiring there. As a senior myself, the last place I'd choose for retirement is Alaska. There are way better places: Florida (choice of my parents and grandparents) no longer the best choice, either. Just like the war against Social Security...the "social contract" between generations is being shredded by greedy PTBs and their tame politicians. Most average citizens I've ever talked to, respect, even if far from revere, their parents and grandparents. As an issue presented on its own, respecting previous generations, would probably win a majority vote. Lose it among distracting issues...?
