If anyone ever tells you they are forced to return the land to the way it was, don't believe it. While they didn't leave the Grand Cannon Jr. they certainly didn't leave it the way it was, nor in any usable fashion. It was a wooded area. Now it is a valley semi covered with grass and rock fields, very few trees. The bad thing is they simply moved to the other side of the road and are now raping the land again.

The pic could have easily been taken 2 miles from my house.

The "soil" is just rock and shale. There are few nutrients and the pH is far to low for deciduous trees. I'm shocked that pines will grow in that crap. And yes, I've been through such areas. They make me sad.
