(1,150 posts)Which is, in my opinion, the best 'actual superhero' graphic novel ever (Watchmen was more of a 'here's what superheros would really be like' kind of story). Even if Frank Miller later turned out to be a fascist asshole...
But just making a movie titled 'Superman vs. Batman?' Sad...

(1,150 posts)Just a bunch of stunts, special effects and fight scenes. With some fairly poor 'oh that's funny because it's so what Scottie would say...'-type jokes thrown in.
No depth of character or exploration of human relationships (often through the use of 'alien' characters).
And really, Zachary Quinto's 'KHAAAANNNNN!' was just painful.
Not Star Trek!
The intelligence factor has been replaced with a video game.

(12,820 posts)The elements of ST: Into Darkness that I thought were the least Trek-like -- chiefly, that the climax involved the unoriginal action movie staples of a chase and a fist fight -- seem to have been amped up here, as this trailer is full of a lot of stuff you can see in any action movie every summer.
I have to hope that this trailer was specifically crafted to only play up the action-movie stuff. We all know that trailers, through editing and music, can make a movie look completely different than what it's really like.
