(54,039 posts)demand drives supply, not the other way around. The other name for Keynesian economics is "demand-side economics." It's not just about government spending to create jobs, but involves investment in infrastructure and public works that reduce capital costs to businesses. You build bridges and electrical grids and new sewage systems and highways and communications networks, you make businesses more profitable. Romney doesn't just want to loot the public sector to help his billionaire buddies. He's simply ignorant about what it takes to keep the economy stable. This is the problem in nominating a leader who's lived a life of priviledge & economic security. He just thinks things happen, perhaps the infrastructure elves come out at night and fix the street lights, to make everything turn out okay despite neglect.
