If you’ve been paying even the slightest bit of attention to the Republican race for the past week, you’ve probably noticed how it has degraded into what could only be comparable to a junior high school insult contest. And even that is pretty insulting to junior high students. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this.

Unlike so many in the professional commentariat, I'm not embarrassed or mortified by the present shenanigans of the Republican Party, nor do I feel they present our country in a negative light to the rest of world. All those things came to past years ago, decades ago, so what they do now only adds to the weak light they project; it doesn't define it because, when we're honest with ourselves, it's been there for as long as most can remember.
