Shut Up About "Party Unity", Dissent Helps Democracy

As the 2016 election continues to unravel, many Democratic voters are airing the concerns over a lack of “party unity” in the battle between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. But isn’t dissent something that helps democracy, especially when choosing the next President of the United States? Ring of Fire’s Mike Papantonio and Farron Cousins discuss this.

The point (wooooosh) is that it's funny as hell to ask for "unity" about dissent!

I guess it's not ok to "dissent" from that view....?

4. Dissent is only helpful when it's constructive

There's nothing constructive about the campaign Bernie is running, where he's convincing his followers that anyone other than him is corrupt. That stirs hate. It doesn't foster anything productive.

7. You mean opposing evil is not constructive?

Well you are right about that...but we do not want not want to construct evil we want to destroy it.

Now the only question is whether you think money in politics and oligarchy is evil or good.
If you think it is the latter then I can understand how you feel

8. Saying "money = evil" is too simplistic

Money can be good, or it can be bad. Corporations can be good, or they can be bad. Politicians can be good, or they can be bad.

Reducing everything to a black and white dichotomy might make you feel good, but it completely distorts the truth. There are issues that certainly need to be addressed, but we can't do that until we're honest. Calling every dollar that doesn't come from a Berner's nearly empty wallet evil isn't honest.

12. Well It is the LOVE of money that is evil

And when the love of money influences politicians to do thing that hurt people it is clearly a black issue.
And there is no question in my mind that we have been living under that kind of dark influence.
And you don't change that by making excuses for it. Honesty starts by calling it out.

The campaign Devine, Weaver, the Bernie bros, and right wing trolls are running. Bernie has allowed his whole campaign to be taken over by these clowns, and it's sad if you ask me. He gets bad advice from his staff, and his "bros" are about as bad as Trumps minions. Of course we can't forget the right wing trolls that have helped the "bros" take over the internet and use board like this to not only try and destroy Hillary, but the entire Democratic part. It's really sick, all the shit these idiots spew day after day, while "real" Bernie supporters have been pushed to the side so the hate mongers an use Bernie's campaign for their own sick agenda.

I don't know why Bernie has allowed this to happen, but it's really shedding a bad light on him, and showing a side of him I never knew he had. O'Malley was my first choice in this race, Bernie was my second. After seeing all the shit that has been posted here on DU, and the shit Bernie himself has started spewing, he no longer will be getting my vote in the primaries. If he should win the nomination, I will vote for him, just as I will if Clinton wins, but I have lost a lot of respect for him simply because he is allowing this kind of crap to continue without putting a stop to it.
