I loved early Letterman. I'll bet that much of what he learned was in fascination of guests like Mel Blanc.

Hey, if we stuck around that episode, he'd be interviewing Hunter S Thompson!

I even saw that DL show too. Really appreciated that guy, Mel Blanc. And Rich Little is his little brother! They were both so good and I think it was Rich Little who did some of the voices after Mel passed.

They just don't make quality cartoons like they used to. I remember when they started the "limited animation" and I hated it. The music used to be a full orchestra and then, when the limited animation came around the music was whittled down to a harmonica and an accordion, just wasn't worth watching anymore..

Thanks for posting!!!

Imagine being a kid, especially a very sick kid, and having this guy with the voices show up. What a treat that would be.

Here's a show about his life:

as bugs or porky. He was a living doll, this one. Voice actors are awesome. Peter Cullen and Frank Welker are my heroes. They entertain and have such integrity, just like Mel did.

The ignorant stereotype?

Is this from the presidential campaign of a real estate swindler from new york, or something else?

I have a lot of childhood memories of his cartoons. Loved Rocky and Bullwinkle!

I love HST but my wife and I walked out of one of his lectures in the early 90's. We could not understand him at all through his mumbling!
