It's just that the people who should be paying attention are too arrogant and isolated to heed the warnings or even notice.

Crash of 1929...1987, 2000, 2008...and many in the World's History.
They never see it until it comes....except the "Smart Entitled Insiders" who manage to Bail Out and leave"The People" devastated to clean it up with the leavings to suffer through the Devastation, until the next Crash comes along.
