... a while back.

I almost didn't stick with it - the first few episodes were, IMHO, less than intriguing.

But I'm glad I hung in there. By episode 5 or 6, everything starts to "gel". The characters come into their own, and what started as stereotypes of hysterical people dealing with extraordinary circumstances becomes a story about real people dealing with life as it IS, and not what they thought it would be.

Fonda, Tomlin, Waterston and Sheen absolutely shine in their roles.

by episode four that everything becomes seamless and so natural.
It seemed to me that the characters didn't know themselves at first
and we come to know them at a slow pace as they begin to know themselves.
Having everything change so dramatically so late in life is jolting,
chaotic, hilarious, terrifying and a great adventure.

... is the perfect description!

I got the feeling that with the first 4 or 5 episodes, the writers were still in the "where are we going with all of this" phase. But then it clicked - and where they should be going became apparent to all concerned.

I have already binge watched all of season two. It just kept getting better and better. I think I'll have to watch it all over again. It's so great. Lily Tomlin deserves an Emmy.
