Because we are constantly being told by Hill camp that we on DU are an anomaly in our percentage of Bernie Supporters. And that is true to a point.

There is a good reason for that. Nina said that black and Hispanic millennials support Bernie more than Hillary, actually even more than white millennials (I didn't know that). She said that in the first six months of this campaign there was a total media blackout on Bernie (which is true), while Hillary has many years of public awareness, and Bill was always been popular with blacks, so they have Brand loyalty...but now the millennials are not sticking to the voting habits of older blacks and Hispanics...and the reason for that is that older people get their news from TV, while millennials get their news on-line. And Bernie is not blacked out on-line like he was on TV.

So of course, with a media blackout, older people did not learn who Bernie was and what he stands for, but millennials did. Here on DU, we have a lot of older Bernie supporters. Why is that? Because we too get our news on-line instead of on TV. So, of course there is a higher percentage of Bernie supporters here (including old fogies).

The longer Bernie is holding his rallies and the millennials drag other people into their excitement (and now the media IS covering him), the more people continue to back Bernie. Of course, you will see this trend stronger in progressive states, and not in conservative states, where conservative dems will still tend to vote for Hillary.

DU IS an anomaly because we (old fogies) are still young in our habits, by being on-line junkies. We think like the millennials and still have economic progressive ideology that has not been "aged" into conservatism. How much of this is really due to age, and how much is due to television shaping our ideas? Media that is controlled by conservative money. It's probably a little of both.

This shows that the future of this country will become more progressive, because our youth are caught up in this revolution now and want to see it continue, regardless of who wins this election.

Thank you Thom and Nina for this great program.

Feel the Bern.
