(50,254 posts)5. Pete later updated the song with a verse in Arabic, in an attempt to work for reconciliation
between Palestinians and Israelis(one of the writers of the original Hebrew version of the song worked with Pete on that).
And Ronnie Gilbert was a longstanding member of Women in Black, a group of Jewish and Arab women who opposed the way Palestinians were treated and worked for a peaceful and just end to the conflict).
