The “basket of deplorables” was on full display at a Donald Trump rally this week when a Trump supporter decided to punch a protestor in the face. The protestor just happened to be a 69 year-old woman with an oxygen tank.

Richard the Puncher is clearly a novice in the world of political action. As a maverick American who listens with his gut rather than with his mind, we cannot expect him to live up to the standards of civil discourse that more experienced voters observe.

When Richard the Puncher feels he is being "attacked", he feels he must "punch back" twice as hard.

Richard the Puncher cannot apologize or show remorse for this, because that may undermine his image as a "strong man" who is never wrong. Besides, Richard the Puncher has never been wrong, even once, in his entire life. He may, indeed, if given the opportunity, "double down".

The media needs to get on board with these kinds of actions by Trump supporters, since many of them are newcomers who do not recognize the "Politically Correct" rules of engagement. Do not condemn Richard the Puncher, welcome his participation in our sacred Democratic election process.
