(10,098 posts)Of all the stupid arguments they make, saying that people all the people have access to health care, emergency rooms can't deny service is one of the dumbest of them all. I know a friend who is struggling financially, and has no insurance. She has been to the emergency room three times in the past year to get care. I would imagine one of those visits cost enough to pay for insurance for a year for her.
I give up, for the first time in my life I have absolutely no faith that the future will be better than today.

(3,514 posts)The insurance companies used the Affordable Care Act as an excuse to raise rates. If their costs drop due to the addition of limits and caps, they aren't going to lower their rates. They are just going to make more profit.

Is it the propaganda machine over here?! It seems likely that the USA would have some of the best propagandists in the world given our long history with business advertisements (another kind of brainwashing), but I'm not sure.
