I opened this at work yesterday and just now found time to watch it.

Wolf asked a couple of very pointed questions that Bernie danced around. The one that pisses me off most was the last. To paraphrase, "What are you going to do about the ludicrous EPA nut Scott Pruit?" Bernie's response..."The American people have to fight back...blah, blah, blah."

I am pained by this response. WTF more can I personally do? I'm not a congressperson. All I can do is vote and protest! I almost wish that some politicians would just look at the camera and admit the truth. What can the Senate do? Zilch, nada, nothing! We fucking blew it in 2016 and now we have to face the music. There aren't enough Dems. Sorry for the rant, I get frustrated at this situation. We the people really blew it this time and some will suffer and die as a result of giving the Repukes so much power.

Senate votes for confirmation of Scott Pruitt as EPA administrator ...

Senator Bernie Sanders grills Scott Pruitt, Trump's nominee for Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), about his position on climate change. Senator Sanders gets Pruitt to admit that President-elect Donald Trump was wrong when he made the statement that climate change/global warming was a hoax. Pruitt readily admits that he believes otherwise. However, when Senator Sanders tries to ask Pruitt his opinion about why the climate is changing, Pruitt tries to evade the Senators question by saying that his opinion is, "immaterial". Senator Sanders disagrees about Pruitt's opinion being "immaterial", especially since he will be in charge of the agency that is supposed to protect the environment.

Senator Sanders points out that 97% of the scientific community says that climate change is caused by human activity. Pruitt then gets into a debate about semantics, saying that the climate is," impacted" by human activity. Senator Sanders argues with Pruitt over the difference between "impact" and "causes", because Pruitt is trying to minimize a very important topic that he will be confronted with as head of the EPA.

Senator Sanders then goes on to make a point about Pruitt's home state of Oklahoma having a record number of earthquakes and the relationship between these earthquakes and fracking (a.k.a. hydraulic fracturing). Senator Sanders asks Pruitt about what he has personally done in his home state to hold the fracking companies accountable. Again, Pruitt becomes evasive and tries very hard to escape from Senator Sanders relentless questioning. At the end, Senator Sanders said that Pruitt will not get his vote. This is classic Bernie Sanders!
