In Donald Trump's presidential campaign he promised that he would put miners back to work.
But across certain parts of America where coal was the lifeblood of many communities, it is proving to be a dying trade, that has had damaging environmental effects.
Since voting for Donald Trump these local mining communities are noticing this might have been a slightly optimistic statement.

(3,827 posts)Coal ain't coming back- It doesn't matter if these people in Kentucky voted for Trump, or not. They would have been better off wishing on a falling star.

ridge lines in the high country. However, any mention sends the "summer complaints", ie. snow buzzards, into a frenzy. Same with solar farms. Currituck county, way out east, banned solar farms altogether. Oh, but they just luuuuuv their electrical appliances and HVAC units.

(3,077 posts)He lied and they were played for suckers. Trump goes where the money is. Coal is dying even if some are in denial. Wind and solar continue to grow. My state of Minnesota is working the solar energy quite strongly. We have the largest solar farm on a National Guard training center in the country at Camp Ripley. So proud.
